Die Geschichte von Podere 29 begann mit einem Maulbeerbaum, welcher auf den Weinlabels der Premium Linie verewigt wurde (Gelso bedeutet im Italienischen Maulbeere). Giuseppe Marrano, Besitzer und Gründer des Gutes, verbrachte als Kind die langen Sommertage im Schatten des Baumes und genoss dessen süssliche Früchte. Auf den 22 Hektaren Land wird vorwiegend die spätreifende Traubensorte Nero di Troia kultiviert, deren Ursprung in Nordapulien ist. Der traditionelle Weinanbau mit moderner Kellertechnik ergibt die für Apulien typischen, tiefrot, vollen, immer mit einer satten Frucht ausgestatteten Rotweine. Neben dem Rebbau bewirtschaftet die Familie ein kleines Gästehaus.
