Franciacorta Ca' del Bosco
A TRAVEL THROUGH TIME
Spring 1980. It is cold and wet in Franciacorta. The bad weather lasts until mid-June and affects the grape load on the vines. Only a few berries hang on the vines. But from mid-July onwards the tide turns: hot summer weather, which lasts until September, allows the few remaining berries to ripen perfectly. What began badly ends in perfection. The notes of the then cellar master of Ca' del Bosco, André Dubois, can still be read today: "Magnificent harvest, low yields. Excellent vintage. A wine for long storage."
A time capsule
A project that would last 43 years began. A time capsule was created that would enclose the year 1980 and would not be released until the time was right.
After years of tasting, it was felt that the time was right. After 42 years of bottle aging, the Annamaria Clementi RS 1980 has reached its evolutionary peak and is ready to reveal itself to the world.
BOOK YOUR TICKET
The wine has incredible complexity. A deep straw yellow with golden reflections and an intense, explosive nose. The initial impressions surprise with notes of undergrowth, musk and fern - signs of long aging on the lees with natural cork. Characteristic notes of candied citrus fruits and quince jam blend with toasted hazelnuts and caramel. A fragrant Franciacorta that develops iodine, beeswax and cedar wood nuances when exposed to air. On the palate it shows amazing solidity and intensity, an almost "meaty" creaminess with a powerful aromatic finish.
Anyone who enjoys this wine embarks on a journey through time over the last 43 years…
