This historic house, where it all began in 1892, is the heart of our family and our company. We have been writing history here for over a century - a history that is characterized by Italian joie de vivre, enjoyment and warm hospitality.

How it all began
Zentralstrasse 141
In 1892, Carlo Vergani founded the comestible business at Zentralstrasse 141, 8003 Zurich together with his wife Adele. Our Enoteca Storica is still located in the same premises today.

Anyone who parks their car in our courtyard will immediately recognize him, even though a lot has happened since this photo was taken. In the photo you can see Reto Vergani's father Carlo as a little boy.
A milestone
The first Grapperia in Switzerland
Thanks to Reto's passion for grappa and his constant search for undiscovered treasures, we opened the first Grapperia in Switzerland.
2500 Amici
Vino e Pane
What began a good 12 years earlier with a good 20 guests, has already thrilled a good 2500 Amici in 2024. With wine, the best food and live Italian music, they transformed our courtyard and the central street into a festival site and provided magical moments and goosebumps.
Constant Change
A Place for Amicis
The Enoteca is a place for all wine and grappa enthusiasts. Just this year, the building was completely renovated by Reto Vergani and an additional floor was added. This project shows how important this place is to us.
