Dark purple color; ripe nose with a harmonious aromatic development on the palate. The wine is reminiscent of Amarone and has the same characteristic notes of dried fruit and vanilla. An elegant and complex wine with a wonderful finish.

The hand-picked grapes are laid out on straw mats to avoid liquid loss and achieve a berry concentration. After vinification, 12 months of ageing in barriques follow. A rarity, harvested from vines that are over 80 years old.

Die Kellerei, welche im Besitze der Schwestern Vittoria und Maria Teresa Vallone, sowie Francesco Vallone ist, besteht aus den folgenden drei Stützpunkten: Tenuta Flaminio in Brindisi (310 ha), Tenuta Castel Serranova in Carovigno (312 ha) und Tenuta Iore in San Pancrazio Salentino (40 ha). Den Hauptbestandteil bilden 170 ha bepflanzt mit Reben, 120 ha mit Olivenbäumen, gefolgt von einer Fläche für den Artischocken- und Gemüse-Anbau. Durch ihren legendären Graticciaia, einen der besten Weine Süditaliens, ist Vallone weit über die italienische Landesgrenze bekannt. Seit 2007 liegt der Ausbau der Weine in der Verantwortung von Graziana Grassini, die zu den gefragtesten Oenologinnen Italiens gehört. Sie hat den Weinen ihre eigene Stilistik gegeben.
